wall Command

The wall command addresses all users simultaneously .In most of the UNIX system the command is reserved for system administrator ( Except Linux )and reserve it for the sole use of the administrator .

Example 1 - Basic Example

Run below wall command to send a message to all users currently logged in to the terminal .

   wall 
   The machine will be Restarted Today at
   9.30 hrs . Please save your all unsaved data .
   [ctrl-d]       

Example 2 - Sending Message from a file

We can store our message or any error logs in a file and then directly publish this file to users on their terminal . Run below command which will print message.txt file on their terminal .

   wall message.txt
