About Selenium -

Selenium is the Automation testing Tool used for automating the web based application . Mostly it is used to automate the web browser .The tool is open source and has automation scripting in following languages .

In our discussion we will use Java as an automation scripting language as we have wide range of codes and functions available in open source community .

we can even see the more details on Selenium official web page http://www.seleniumhq.org/ . Lets first make our setup ready before we start automating our application and scripting for it . To install selenium web driver , download the set up from -http://www.seleniumhq.org/download/ Download version 2.44.0.

Next step is install Java on your machine go to http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk8-downloads-2133151.htmlTo install Java and to use the already existing classes you need to Download the zip files from the link .

To create the java classes and writing your automation script you can use the Eclipse IDE, If Eclipse is not installed in your machine you can download it for Java (Eclipse IDE for Java Developers) from http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/? . You can download the eclipse for win32 as well as win 64 bit
