Application of Power Electronic Technologies for Enhancing Power Flow Control on the south china pow

Abstract: In this paper, it advocates feasibility of using power electronic technologies for enhancing power flow control in modern power systems. This has mainly been substantiated by various converter-based power electronic devices being realized worldwide including the world’s first Unified Power Flow Controller recently. Development and possible applications of the same for the China’s going to be interconnected power network is explained briefly. Case study in the South China Power Network reviews that power electronic device like UPFC can enhance controllability of power flow in the network for better performance.
